Cactus Day Camp Staff 2012
Ryan S. is joining the CDC staff for his 1st summer. He is working
towards a degree in music education at ASU and graduating in the spring
of 2013. Ryan has been teaching marching bands and private music lessons
for four years. He wants to be a high school band director after
graduation from ASU. Ryan will be the counselor for the Cobras.
Loi graduated in 2011 from California State University in Fullerton, CA.
where he majored in art education and linguistics. He was born in
Vietnam, raised in CA and now resides in AZ. His career goal is to be an
art teacher for all grade levels (K-12) and to teach English as a
secondary language. His experience working with children includes:
several years tutoring students, working with children in public schools
as well as in camp environments, and a sport youth photographer. This
will be Loi’s first summer at CDC where he will be one of the counselors
for the Geckos.
Kim joins the CDC staff for her second summer. Kim has lived in Fountain
Hills for 14 years and has 4 children. She has volunteered within the
schools for the past 15 years as well as assisted softball coach. Kim's
duties at Cactus Day Camp include transporting the campers to and from
the pool in the van, and assisting the director with behind the scenes
administrative tasks. Kim is certified in first aid and CPR.
Spending his 4th summer at Cactus Day Camp is 22 year old Tim. Tim just
graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in political
science. He has done quite a bit of babysitting and has assisted his
mother in her first grade classroom. He loves playing sports and has
coached many sports. Tim is known at CDC for leading “Gym with Tim.” Tim
is with us for as long as we can keep him as he is searching for a
“real” job. He will assist all the boy groups at camp and lead archery
and gym games.
Twenty one year old Taylor C. just completed her third year at Arizona
State University. Taylor is pursuing a degree in tourism development and
management and French. Taylor would like to eventually work in meeting
and convention management planning international events. This is
Taylor's 4th summer working at Cactus Day Camp. Taylor absolutely loves
to dance and cheer. She taught dance at Kelly's Dance Academy and cheer
clinics in high school. Taylor is going to lead arts and crafts, special
events and the camper leaders this summer.
“Annie” has a B.S.W. from Boston University and was a nationally
certified muscular therapist for over 10 years. She moved with her
partner to Fountain Hills, AZ from MA in 2001. They have 2 dogs, Weko
age 10 and newly adopted Grace age 1. Together they enjoy many outdoor
activities like golfing, hiking, motorcycling… Annie loves creating art
and music, and spending time with friends and family. In 2010, Annie
obtained her lifeguard certification and worked at the CDC pool. She is
back at the pool lifeguarding for the CDC 2012 season with our other
lifeguard Dyanna. The two of them will make a great team and a safe
summer for all.
